On 22nd February 2026, United Judo Academy (UJA) had the privilege of conducting a powerful Self-Defence Seminar for underprivileged women at Sharan, Sakinaka, on the request of the Rotaract Club of NMIMS’ SOC, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bombay Airport.
For me personally, this was more than a session. It was a mission.
For over four decades, we at UJA have believed that true self-defence begins in the mind, with awareness, courage, and confidence. Watching these women transform from hesitation to determination within minutes reminded me why this work is so important.
When strong institutions come together with the right intention, lives change. Confidence rises. Fear reduces. Strength awakens.

We are not just teaching techniques,
