  •  Judo means gentle way, maximum efficiency with minimum efforts.
  • It is a form of martial art from Japan.
  • It was the first martial art ever to be introduced in Olympics.
  • Judo is played in more than 191 countries worldwide.
  • Judo got the status of being the second most popular sport after the Soccer.

UNESCO have declared Judo as the best initial training sport for children and young people 4-21 years old, since it allows:
“A comprehensive physical education, enhancing, through knowledge of the sport, all psychomotor possibilities (spatial location, perspective, ambidexterity, laterality, throwing, pushing, crawling, jumping, rolling, falling, independent joint coordination of both hands and feet, etc.) and relationship with others, using play and fight like element integrator-dynamic and introducing technical and tactical sport initiation of shape adapted; in addition to seeking a general, ideal fitness”.

  1. Agility-
  • The ability to quickly change body position or direction of the body.
  • Agility is also influenced by body balance, coordination, the position of the center of gravity, as well as running speed and skill.
  • It is the ability to explosively start, decelerate, change direction and accelerate again quickly while maintaining body control and minimizing a reduction in speed. Universally, agility can often be described as an athlete’s collective co-ordinative abilities.
  1. Flexibility-
  • Flexibility training includes stretching exercises for the purpose of increasing one’s range of motion.
  • Prior to flexibility training (stretching), a warm up exercises should be performed at a low intensity for 5-10 minutes. This increases the temperature of the muscles and decreases the risk of injury.
  • Flexibility is specific to a particular movement or joints.
  • The degree of flexibility can vary around the body.
  1. Basic Gymnastics-
  • Physical exercises designed to develop strength and coordination.
  • Gymnastics increases raw physical strength, flexibility, power, agility, co-ordination, grace, balance and control.
  • Basic gymnastics are taught to improve focus and flexibility.

  • Rope climbs are a total body workout.
  • It is an effective exercise for the arms, upper back, core, grip strength, and legs.
